Circontinentes has been organizing since 2018 the Ibero-American Circus Festival (FIRCO), the first and only festival of short numbers that exclusively summons participants selected from the 23 Ibero-American countries. They have the opportunity to perform their numbers of the different circus disciplines before a specialized jury, which will decide the awards of the festival. The objective is to promote circus and cultural exchange during 3 days of performances.
This festival brings together the different circus proposals from Ibero-American countries, generating a unique place of convergence and learning, which strengthens the existing ties in this community.
FIRCO will consolidate the circus as an artistic proposal of the highest level in Ibero-America, as well as promote its diffusion.
It will also promote and reward the most interesting and innovative young proposals.
The Teatro Circo Price is the living history of the circus in Spain. It is currently the oldest and most prestigious stable circus in the country. It was founded in 1868 by the British acrobat Thomas Price and throughout its history has presented different locations in Madrid. After its reopening in 2007, managed by the City Council, it has become a great cultural reference due to its extensive circus programming.
In addition to producing its own shows, it does not hesitate to offer a varied offer, ranging from the main international companies to small-format circus cycles to make local companies visible, covering all circus styles and disciplines.
The building has a circular arena and seating for more than 1200 people.
It is perfectly equipped to host any type of show, in addition to having a technical team with extensive experience.
It is, without a doubt, the ideal place to host this festival.
