Due to the global pandemic of COVID-19, the third edition of the Ibero-American Circus Festival, scheduled for September 2020, was cancelled. But Circontinentes, with the co-production of the Teatro Circo Price, has decided to continue supporting the Ibero-American circus even in these uncertain times. Instead of a “usual” edition, this year a new proposal has been proposed: a circus documentary, accessible from all parts of the planet and a strong commitment to the Ibero-American circus, to demonstrate its strength and value. Five artistic companies from different Latin American countries were invited to star in this documentary in five unique venues in the city of Madrid. In addition to showing circus in unusual places, we will learn more about these artists, their concerns, their vision of the circus and the world.

Taking advantage of the singularity of the initiative of the documentary ‘The Circular Flight’, a book of photographs of the documentary has been made with the photographer Gaby Merz, with the same title.
They are powerful images of the performances themselves that have taken place in these places that are not used to hosting circuses, as well as behind-the-scenes scenes, preparations, etc.
Gaby shows in the book a great photographic eye, an excellent ability to convey the movement, colors and intensity of the circus and its artists.
A careful tribute to this project born in the pandemic.
